Creative Composition lays the foundation for forming interesting images. I'm embarrassed to admit that before this particular photography assignment I had only applied one of the basic creative composition rules to my prior images (the rule of thirds), but that's why I'm taking classes to continue learning the art of photography. By getting out and shooting the rules of creative composition I no longer have to think how to make my photograph unique, the rules come so easily now and my images are stronger for it!
Shooting these assignments I not only expanded my shooting technique, but it also pushed me way outside of my comfort zone, I never imagined trudging through a cemetery on a sunny weekday morning to find an interesting shot, standing in the middle of a quiet residential street on a Sunday morning, or making my wonderful husband drive me deep into the country on a Saturday afternoon (because I was scared I'd never find my own way home)! After this assignment I officially began to eat, sleep, breathe photography.
